Giannini Bruno founded, 35 years ago, the first company with his name. After 16 years of experience within caves, he decided to open an independent extraction company in Lodrino. With one worker, a wood crane and a crafting space, he threw himself into this new adventure.
During 1960’s economic expansion, granite industry was blossoming and Lodrino alone, had 20 active caves. The extraction was done through mine blasting, using black powder. The extracted blocks were cutted directly in place, because of lacking of excavators. The whole production was manually done or with the help of a pneumatic perforator.
In 1961 the cave was already 1000m2, filling 2 trucks of 6 ton each per week, and thanks to the intrepid spirit of Bruno Giannini, by 1965 the company has 5 workers and filled more than 10 trucks per week. In 1967 was founded the Giannini Bruno & co, due to the acquisition of another company situated little after Lodrino, nowadays yet place of quarrying and manufacturing for the Giannini Graniti SA, intending its future expansion.
